New Ofsted Toolkit Update

This term, our leadership team has been familiarising themselves with the new Ofsted Toolkit, which will be used in future inspections of our school. The Toolkit helps leaders prepare evidence in the specific areas being inspected and supports schools in striving to meet the highest standards possible in their inspection gradings.

The new grading framework includes the following categories:

  • Exceptional
  • Strong Standard
  • Expected Standard
  • Needs Attention
  • Urgent Improvement

Our team is currently planning how we can further build a robust evidence base to demonstrate that our provision consistently meets the criteria for strong and exceptional standards. This work will ensure that we continue to deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and pastoral care across the school.

School Improvement Plan Priorities 2025/2026

Each academic year, schools identify key priority areas for improvement. Even where strong standards are already in place, there is always scope to refine and further develop practice, to ensure the very best outcomes for pupils.

  1. To further cultivate a culture of ethical leadership across all levels of the school, where kindness, integrity, and mutual respect underpin all professional interactions – ensuring that support and challenge are delivered with compassion and clarity.
  2. To improve pupil outcomes across the curriculum by ensuring that all lessons are underpinned by high-quality planning, purposeful and challenging pupil tasks, and dynamic teaching that inspires engagement, deepens understanding, and secures progress for all learners
  3. To review and refine the reading and writing curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of all learners, provides appropriate challenge, and offers regular opportunities for pupils to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and understanding.
  4. To ensure that pupil workbooks across all subjects reflect the school’s high expectations for presentation, learning, and progress, and clearly evidence the use of scaffolds, learning aids, and effective teacher feedback that supports and challenges all learners.
  5. To improve the effectiveness of teaching partners in supporting high-quality learning by enabling them to scaffold pupil understanding, promote independence, and ensure all learners can access and engage with the full curriculum.

During the first 14 weeks of this term, significant progress has already been made in these priority areas. All staff members are fully committed to the improvement plans, and their dedication is evident in the positive impact already being seen across the school.

Attainment Data for 2024/2025 Academic Year

During the Autumn Term, we collate the performance data of our pupils from the end of the summer term and use this to inform our next steps.

Although attainment data does not show the progress children have made from their starting points, it does help us identify areas of strength and areas for further development.

Please see the link below to view the school’s performance data on the DfE performance website.
