Meet Our Inclusion Team

At Leckhampton C of E Primary School, we are committed to making sure that every child feels included, supported and able to thrive.

Our SENDCO and Inclusion Lead is Mrs Suzie Pinless. Alongside coordinating support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Mrs Pinless also has responsibility for a number of other areas that support children’s wellbeing and inclusion, including children with medical needs.

The SENDCO works closely with children, families, class teachers and a range of other professionals to make sure that children receive the right support at the right time. This might include coordinating additional provision, working with outside agencies, supporting teachers and listening to children and their families.

If you have a concern about your child, your first point of contact is always your child’s class teacher, as they know your child best and can work with you to understand and address any concerns.

If you would like to speak to Mrs Pinless directly, please contact the school office on 01242 524062 or email admin@leckhampton.gloucs.sch.uk. We are always happy to listen and help families access the support they need.

Working closely with Mrs Pinless is our wonderful team of Wellbeing Teaching Partners: from left to right: Mrs Jenny Lewis, Miss Jade McAlary, Mrs Rachel Linton and Mrs Suzie Pinless (SENDCO and Inclusion Lead).

Inclusion Coffee Mornings

Inclusion Coffee Mornings

We are delighted to continue our Inclusion Coffee Mornings this academic year. These informal sessions are a chance to meet with other parents, find out more about inclusion at Leckhampton and explore topics that may be helpful to you and your family.

Dates for 2026–2027:

  • Monday 5th October 2026 – Inclusion at Leckhampton and an opportunity to hear from Miss Porter about our School Improvement Plan priorities.
  • Tuesday 19th January 2027
  • Wednesday 9th June 2027

The sessions begin shortly after morning drop-off, at approximately 8:45am, and usually finish by 10:00am. If you need to leave earlier, please feel free to slip away whenever you need to.

We will let you know the focus of each session in advance. Sessions may include a particular area of interest, a guest professional sharing their knowledge and advice, or simply an opportunity to meet and chat with other parents and share experiences.

We hope you will be able to join us for a coffee and a chat. Everyone is welcome

My Plans and My Plan+

Children with SEND at Leckhampton will have a My Plan or My Plan+. This is a working document that sets out the support and strategies we are putting in place to help your child overcome barriers to learning and make progress.

My Plans are reviewed regularly by class teachers, with support from the SENDCO and Inclusion Lead. Working together with parents and families is an important part of this process, as you know your child best and your views and insights help us to understand what is working well and what might need to change.

My Plan Review Dates

My Plans will be shared with parents during the following weeks:

  • Week beginning 2nd November 2026
  • Week beginning 1st March 2027
  • Week beginning 17th May 2027 – Year 6 only
  • Week beginning 28th June 2027 – Reception to Year 5

Useful Local Support for Families

Sometimes it can be difficult to know where to start when you are looking for information, advice or support for your child. Gloucestershire’s SEND Local Offer and the Glosfamilies Directory are useful places to explore what is available locally for children, young people and families. You can find more information on the school website

The SEND Local Offer brings together information about services and support for children and young people with SEND aged 0–25. This includes information about education, health, social care, activities, financial support, transport and organisations that can help families. It can be particularly useful if you are looking for support linked to your child’s additional needs or want to understand what help may be available.

Visit Gloucestershire’s SEND Local Offer

The Glosfamilies Directory is a wider family information directory, bringing together local services, activities, groups, childcare, parenting support and advice for families across Gloucestershire. You might use it to find a local activity or club, look for support during the school holidays, find parenting programmes or explore organisations that can offer advice and practical help.
