Parking on the School Site

As parents and carers are aware, since January a new system has been in place, agreed by our governing body, where parents are not permitted to park on the school site. The only exception is for exempt drivers who need to use the accessible parking spaces.

Many families have made alternative arrangements and are using onstreet parking rather than entering the school car parks, which has been very pleasing to see. However, in recent weeks we have noticed an increase in the number of parent vehicles entering the school car parks.

We would like to remind all families that this decision was made for the safety of our children, particularly those who frequently enter and exit Childs Play Club UK via the car park area.

Thank you to all parents and carers for your continued cooperation and support in helping us keep our children safe.

End of the School Day

Please may we remind parents to leave the school site promptly after collecting their child/children. Our play equipment and field are used by Childs Play Club UK and external sports providers after schoolTherefore, must not be used by children once the school day has ended. Mr O’Kelly (our Caretaker) will be locking the school gates at 3.30pm each day, so we kindly ask that all families have exited the site by this time. Thank you in advance for your continued support and cooperation.

Out of School Awards

Next week, pupils are invited to bring to school any certificates, medals or awards which they have received from outside of school. These will be shared during their Collective Worship time in their classroom.

Extra-curricular Clubs update

Now that we are into week 4 of the Summer Term, our extra-curricular clubs are well underway. If your child has signed up for a club but no longer wishes to attend, please could we ask that parents send an email to the school office letting us know so that we can remove the child’s name from the club register. Although we try to cater for as many club requests as possible, we do hold small waiting lists for some clubs, and any unrequired places could be offered to children who are on a waiting list. We thank you for your support with this.

Class Collective Worships

Our whole school acts of worship are cherished moments for our children and staff and we are delighted that families feel welcome to join us in worship.

Please may we remind all parents that no photography is permitted during the collective worship. However, there will be a photo opportunity at the end.

It is wonderful to see and hear parents catching up with one another from 8:35am when the doors open. However, at 8:55am, as the children begin to assemble, we ask that all adults support us in creating a sense of calm and peace and wait quietly for the children to enter. Our pupils are accustomed to entering silently, listening to the music being played, or reflecting on the image shown on the screen.

Following each class collective worship, parents are invited to complete a small card to share how the worship made them feel. As a Church of England school, we deeply value the impact of these moments. Your feedback, alongside that of the pupils, will help us reflect on and celebrate the significance of our worship together.

Forest School Survey

Just before the Easter holidays, each child was invited to take part in a Forest School session with a family member as part of our WellBeing Week. This was a very special week in school, and we have been delighted to receive such lovely feedback from parents through our Microsoft Forms survey.

The survey will be closing next week, so if you have not yet had the opportunity to share your feedback and would like to do so, please complete the form by 3:00pm next Friday using the following link: Well-Being Week Forest School Sessions  – Fill out form

Sun Safety

As we approach the warmer months, we would like to remind parents and carers of the importance of sun safety. Please ensure that all pupils:

  • Apply sunscreen before coming to school and bring a named bottle of sunscreen into school. Children will be given opportunities to reapply throughout the day.
  • Wear a named sunhat to school and take responsibility to wear it when outside. Teachers will remind children before playtimes.
  • Bring a full water bottle into school each day. Teachers will give children regular opportunities to have a drink between activities.
