Dogs on the School Site
We would like to remind all parents that, in line with Gloucestershire County Council guidance, dogs are not permitted on the school site; this applies to all dogs, with the exception of registered assistance dogs. We kindly ask that dogs are not brought onto the premises at drop off or collection times to help ensure the safety, wellbeing and comfort of all members of our school community.
Active Travel to School
We would like to thank all of our children and families who make active journeys to school by walking, cycling or scootering. It is wonderful to see so many pupils choosing healthy and environmentally friendly ways to travel each day. To help keep our site safe and reduce congestion at busy drop off and collection times, we ask that all bicycles and scooters are brought onto the school site via the Church Road entrance only. This entrance is closest to our bike and scooter storage area and helps to minimise pedestrian and vehicle traffic around other parts of the site. Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a safe and orderly environment for everyone.
Medical Information Update
To help us maintain accurate records on our central school system and ensure we can support all pupils effectively, please complete the Microsoft Form below to inform us of any new medical conditions, allergies or dietary requirements your child may have. This includes any new information or changes to the existing information that we already store.
Please note that completing this form does not replace the school’s medication procedures. If your child requires medication to be administered in school, the appropriate medication forms must still be completed through the school office. Medical Record Update Form – Fill in form
Thank you for your support in helping us keep our records up to date and ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
Pupil Inhalers and medication
If your child has an inhaler or any medication stored in school, please could you make a note of its expiry date and provide the school with a replacement when necessary. Thank you for your support.
Pupil Tactile Resources
As parents may already be aware, we are an ADHD Friendly School. As part of our pledge, all pupils have access to a range of tactile resources within the classroom to help them regulate and maintain focus during lessons.
To ensure resources are safe, appropriate and used consistently across the school, we kindly ask that pupils do not bring tactile resources or fidget toys from home. Classroom resources are readily available to all children as needed. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Crisis and Resilience Fund
If your family is experiencing unexpected financial hardship, support may be available through Gloucestershire’s Crisis and Resilience Fund.
The fund can provide help with essential costs such as:
- Food
- Fuel and energy costs
- Housing-related costs
- Essential household items
- Emergency living costs
The service can also help families to access longer-term support and advice with benefits, budgeting, debt, energy costs and other local services.
If things are financially difficult at the moment, please don’t feel that you have to manage alone. There is support available, and asking for help early can make a real difference.
If you would like help finding out what support may be available to your family, please speak to a member of the school team or find out more on this page https://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/health-and-social-care/crisis-and-resilience-fund/
FoLPS Update
It’s a busy month coming up for FoLPS – here are a few important reminders.
Autumn Discos – Thursday 1st October
The autumn discos are Thursday 1st October. Please note the new timings for each year group:
- 3.30pm-4.00pm Reception (children will get ready with their class and head straight to the School Hall with their teachers)
- 4.00pm-4.30pm Years 1 + 2
- 4.30pm-5.15pm Years 3 + 4
- 5.15pm-6.00pm Years 5 + 6
Suggested donation is £3 per child, which can be paid by cash or card on the door. FoLPS will collect payment from Reception parents as children are collected (please do not send money into school), and all other years as they come into the disco. Entrance to the disco is from the School Hall door in the staff car park. Collection after each disco will be via the playground, accessed via the gate behind the School Hall in the staff car park. FoLPS volunteers will be there to direct you!
Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing those fabulous dance moves!
Christmas Card Art Project
You should hopefully have now received your child’s order form for the Cauliflower Cards Christmas Art Project. You will have an email with all the details (“FoLPS Christmas Art Project”) but the key points to remember are:
- Deadline for returning the forms to your class teacher is Thursday 8th October.
- Artwork should be glued to the order form (no staples, paperclips or sellotape).
- Please order using your unique code before returning the form to school, as you will need the details on the form to make your order.
- Please do not photocopy a form for a friend as they each have a unique code used to match the order to the artwork. If you need a spare please email chair@folps.com
Unleash your creativity and order some unique Christmas gifts for friends and family!

The ever-popular FoLPS quiz is back! Friday 16th October in the School Hall, doors opening at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets include a fish & chips supper. Full details and ticket sales available soon, so find your team (up to six people) and get the date in your diary!
